Junts has conveyed to the Executive its displeasure at considering that the Government "is moving away from the agreement" reached in recent days and putting "at risk" the solutions regarding housing with the draft royal decree law from the Ministry of Housing that it is negotiating with Sumar and that is expected to be approved this Tuesday by the Council of Ministers.
According to sources from the formation, the Government disseminated a proposal on Monday morning to try to reach a consensus with which they were "largely in agreement." However, the party led by Carles Puigdemont maintains that the draft made public in the afternoon includes provisions that were not part of the negotiation and that "had already prevented the validation" of previous decrees.
In particular, Junts points out "the acceptance of occupations," a measure that, in its view, leaves "small property owners unprotected and on equal footing with vulture funds."
Likewise, it criticizes that a significant modification of the Urban Leasing Law is being promoted through a decree, "despite the fact that this reform is already being processed with the participation of all political groups in Parliament through the corresponding bill."
The independentist formation attributes these changes to the "pressure" from coalition partners, although it insists on its willingness to continue the negotiation until "the end to come up with a text that addresses the real problems of housing": "We want there to be an agreement. It will not be for lack of effort on our part."
