Apple, Ikea, Leroy Merlin, El Corte Inglés, Alcampo, Carrefour, Conforama, Jysk, and MediaMarkt, along with other companies in the large distribution sector, have decided to reduce the opening hours of some of their centers this Sunday due to the final of the World Cup that Spain and Argentina will play in New Jersey (United States), according to Fetico.
The adjustment of hours will allow part of the staff to leave their workplace earlier and share this decisive match with family, friends, and close people, in which Spain aims to be crowned world champion in football for the second time.
Thus, several establishments of these chains will close their doors this Sunday at 8:00 PM, as will happen in El Corte Inglés, Ikea, or Jysk, and at 8:30 PM in the case of Carrefour, Alcampo, Leroy Merlin, Apple, or Conforama.
Fetico has highlighted the attitude of these companies in adjusting their commercial operations in the face of an event of great social relevance and has valued their "willingness to attend" to an initiative aimed at improving the well-being of workers.
The Secretary General of Fetico, Antonio Pérez, has emphasized that "the response of these companies demonstrates that dialogue allows for finding balanced and sensitive solutions with the workers."
In the same vein, he has remarked that "bringing forward the closing on such a special day means recognizing that, alongside commercial activity, it is also important to address the social and personal reality of those who make the operation of the establishments possible every day."
