The Spaniards who are looking for improvised getaways for this month of August find that plane tickets show discounts of up to 32% compared to the same period last year, according to the latest data published by the travel search engine Kayak.
Although it is the peak season, the portal's study confirms that various national, European, and long-distance destinations show significant decreases in their rates.
Among the largest drops are European capitals such as Warsaw (Poland), where the average price of a round-trip flight falls by 32% to 180 euros, and Sofia (Bulgaria), which records a decrease of 26%, with an average cost of 209 euros.
In the long-haul section, the report highlights relevant cuts to several points in Asia, such as Jakarta (Indonesia), with an average price of 706 euros and a drop of 22%, or Hanoi (Vietnam), where the ticket is around 887 euros, 19% less.
There are also double-digit decreases in other destinations such as London (-21%), Krakow (-21%), Toronto (-18%), and Palermo (-18%) compared to August 2025.
Santander and Bilbao, the cheapest options within Spain
In the domestic market, the list of the most economical destinations to fly to in August is led by Santander, with an average price of 97 euros for round-trip flights, closely followed by Bilbao, with 98 euros, and Seville, with 116 euros. Next are Oviedo, with an average of 123 euros, and Vigo, with 132 euros.
As for the most affordable international destinations, European cities dominate with average rates below 110 euros. Milan (Italy) is the cheapest option, with an average of 102 euros, followed by the Portuguese cities of Lisbon, with 103 euros, and Porto, with 108 euros. Closing the group of the most economical are Venice and London, both with an average price of 130 euros.
