Lidl will launch a total of eleven new supermarkets in Spain throughout this month of November, after allocating more than 66 million euros to these establishments across five autonomous communities, which will allow the creation of 242 jobs.

The Community of Madrid, the Valencian Community, the Basque Country, Catalonia, and Asturias are the areas chosen by the German chain for these openings, which together will add up to more than 12,000 m2 of sales floor area.

In the Community of Madrid and in the Valencian Community, three openings are concentrated in each territory during the eleventh month of the year.

Yesterday, Thursday 5, the new stores of Valdebebas (Madrid) and of Gandía (Valencia) opened their doors. In the case of the capital, on November 20 the Aranjuez establishment will be unveiled, located in the Parque Comercial Alerce Park; and six days later the store in the Latina district will begin operations, built on the plot where an old center of a telecommunications company was located.

In the Valencian Community, on November 12 an inauguration of a new store is scheduled at the central Plaza de Jesús, in the Patraix neighborhood, in the capital; and one week later the opening of a new supermarket in the province of Alicante, in Orihuela, will take place.

OPENINGS IN THE BASQUE COUNTRY, CATALONIA AND ASTURIAS

In the Basque Country, Guipúzcoa will concentrate the two new spaces that Lidl is finalizing. In San Sebastián, on Fernando Múgica Street, a new store will open on November 19; while on November 26 the new establishment of Bergara will be available to consumers.

In Catalonia, the multinational company inaugurated yesterday its new commercial space in Amposta (Tarragona); while for today it is preparing the reopening of the supermarket in the Barceloneta neighborhood of the Catalan capital, a store that has been modernized and expanded.

For its part, the Asturian town of Villaviciosa will host, starting next November 26, a new Lidl supermarket.

EXPANSION PLAN

These eleven openings are framed within the company’s expansion plan. During this fiscal year 2026 (from March of this year to February 2027), Lidl will continue to drive its presence in the country through an investment of more than 440 million euros, which will translate into more than 60 actions in its commercial network—between openings and modernizations—strategically prioritizing its development in the islands and in the major urban centers, as the company itself has pointed out.

As Lidl states, this push has been extended in a priority way to its logistics network. In this regard, the chain has strengthened its logistics infrastructure with the launch of the Martorell facilities (Barcelona), a project that represents Lidl’s most significant logistics investment in the country in its more than 30 years of history, according to the German company.
