Minor Hotels will continue to develop its international expansion plan with its entry into Uzbekistan, after closing a franchise agreement with the company Easyrent to launch the NH Hotel Tashkent. This is a hotel with 151 rooms located in the capital of the Central Asian country, whose opening is scheduled for the first quarter of 2027.

As the group announced this Thursday, the project involves the launch of the NH Hotels & Resorts brand in Uzbekistan and represents both the company’s arrival and the brand’s presence in the region of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and across Central Asia.

The alliance was sealed at a signing ceremony held in Taskent, which was attended by tourism officials from the Uzbek Government, the project’s management team, and executives from the international hotel group, which currently has a portfolio of more than 640 hotels operating and in development in 67 countries.

The property is being subjected to a deep renovation and repositioning with the aim of meeting the quality criteria of the upscale segment of the brand.

When it reopens its doors in 2027, the NH Hotel Tashkent will offer 151 rooms in different categories (standard, deluxe, and family suites), a dining proposal with continuous service, a gym, and several meeting rooms designed to host corporate events.

The operation consolidates the asset-light growth strategy (a model based on management and franchising with a lower weight of assets held in property) led by Minor Hotels Europe & Americas, supported by its global distribution platform and the Minor Discovery loyalty program, which already surpasses 38 million members worldwide.

The CEO of Minor Hotels Europe & Americas, Gonzalo Aguilar, has defined the agreement as "a new step forward" in the company’s roadmap in Central Asia and has highlighted the importance of the franchising model to introduce its brands in new destinations with the support of local partners.

For her part, the general director of the NH Hotel Tashkent, Gilmeeva Olesya, has emphasized that the combination of the international group’s commercial capacity and knowledge of the Uzbek market will help to "enrich the hotel sector of the capital" and to meet the growing flow of leisure and business travelers linked to the Silk Road.
