Nortia Capital, the investment holding of Manuel Lao, and the American real estate manager Gencom, together with a group of partners, have concluded the purchase of the Rosewood London hotel, one of the most emblematic luxury hotels in the British capital, according to both companies’ statements.
With this transaction, both firms strengthen their international expansion in the high-end hospitality sector, following their recent joint investments in the ownership of The Ritz-Carlton Central Park, in New York, and the InterContinental in Miami.
The Rosewood London is located in the Midtown district, between Covent Garden and the City of London. The property occupies a historic 1912 building, protected as Grade II, and has 308 rooms and suites.
In the case of Nortia, the operation is integrated into its rotation and portfolio diversification policy toward international assets with strong fundamentals and stable demand in the premium segment.
Nortia Capital’s chairman, Manuel Lao, has emphasized that the acquisition “strengthens the commitment to top-tier assets in key international markets” and fits with its “long-term strategy based on the quality of the assets and the creation of value.”
For his part, Gencom’s founder, Karim Alibhai, has stressed that the hotel is “one of the most iconic hotel assets in the European market” and represents an investment opportunity in a property with a distinctive positioning within luxury.
