The Valencian company Power Electronics has begun the construction of its new campus of 210,000 square meters in Houston (United States), a "key milestone within its industrial and growth strategy" that represents "the largest international industrial expansion" of the company and that will become "the largest manufacturing campus for energy conversion systems" in the North American country.

The firm, a global leader in the design and production of advanced energy conversion solutions, officially presented the initiative this Thursday during the ceremony for laying the first stone in Houston. Authorities, institutional representatives, clients, strategic partners, and prominent figures from the business and energy fabric of Texas attended the event, according to the company in a statement.

"For the first time in many years, the United States will be able to meet its growing demand for sustainable power generation capacity and energy resilience thanks to local manufacturing and the support of the most advanced technology in the world. Our Houston Campus, with a production capacity of 40 GW, will help define the future of energy and the growth of artificial intelligence globally," stated the CEO of Power Electronics, David Salvo.

The complex will be built on a plot of about 21 hectares and will consist of two buildings that will concentrate the areas of production, logistics, electronics manufacturing, R&D, training, corporate offices, and other functions considered strategic for the group.

Designed to be the most automated inverter manufacturing center in the history of Power Electronics, the campus will integrate state-of-the-art production lines and processes with a high level of automation, with the aim of ensuring the highest standards of efficiency, quality, scalability, and reliability.

When operating at full capacity, the site will reach an annual production capacity of up to 40 GW and will allow the creation of more than 400 jobs. This new capacity will help Power Electronics respond to the increase in demand in the United States and the rest of the American continent, with a special focus on sectors such as solar energy, energy storage, data centers, and electrification.

The Houston campus will join the activity of the one in Llíria (Valencia) and will strengthen the company's global industrial platform, bringing it even closer to its customers and projects while simultaneously strengthening the resilience of its supply chain. According to the company, this is "the largest international industrial expansion undertaken by Power Electronics to date."

Expansion of the Llíria campus

The industrial growth plan of Power Electronics also includes the expansion of its Llíria Campus (Valencia), which will increase from the current 100,000 to 150,000 square meters of surface area.

This expansion will make it possible to incorporate new lines of business and enhance both the technological and productive capacity of the company. With the parallel development of both campuses, Power Electronics expects to achieve a global productive capacity of 105 GW. This model will facilitate a more efficient distribution of production, greater proximity to customers, and better support for the growth of the various markets in which it operates.

Power Electronics has executed projects in numerous countries through its divisions of solar, energy storage, data centers, electric mobility, and industry. By 2026, the multinational has reached 170 GW of installed AC power, avoiding the emission of more than 169.2 million tons of CO2.
