The neobank Revolut announced this Monday the launch of "Revolut Ventures" in cooperation with Carne Group, considered the largest independent manager of third-party funds in Europe, with the aim of facilitating access for small savers to investment in unlisted companies.

According to the fintech in a statement, this new platform, whose debut is scheduled for 2027, will function as a connection channel between a group of selected investors and fast-growing technology companies that have not yet made the leap to the stock markets.

From Revolut they point out that "These companies are taking longer and longer to go public, with a median that has increased from 6.9 years in 2014 to 11 years in 2025." In the entity's view, this implies that a good part of value generation is concentrated in the stage prior to going public.

At the same time, the neobank emphasizes that, historically, this type of investment has been practically restricted to large institutional investors and high-net-worth individuals, "leaving the small investor on the sidelines."

In parallel, Revolut recalls that investment opportunities in listed equities have drastically reduced in the United States, from about 7,000 listed companies in the year 2000 to around 3,900 in 2025. "More and more mature and cash-generating companies are becoming private equity or deciding never to go public, which reduces opportunities for retail investors," the firm emphasizes.

With the backing of agreements with some of the main unlisted technology companies globally, "Revolut Ventures" will be integrated directly into the Revolut app, where it will coexist with the current investment alternatives, which include US and European stocks, ETFs, money market funds, bonds, and private market vehicles.

However, the financial entity emphasizes that, although these options present significant growth potential, they are "less liquid" assets than listed equities and involve "a significant risk of capital loss."

"With Revolut Ventures, our goal is to break down one of the last barriers in wealth management: the exclusion of retail investors from unlisted companies. We are providing everyday investors the opportunity to access the market leaders of tomorrow directly from the 'app'," said the Director of Wealth and Trading (EEE) at Revolut, Rolandas Juteika.

In the structure of the project, Carne Group will take on the management of alternative investment funds (GFIA), while Alter Domus will act as the administrator and BNY will perform the functions of depositary and custody entity.
