The Minister of Housing and Urban Agenda, Isabel Rodríguez, has described this Tuesday as "dramatic for Spain" the rapprochement of the PP to Vox, after the leader of the 'populars', Alberto Núñez Feijóo, has acknowledged that he is holding conversations with the formation of Santiago Abascal with the aim of achieving a majority in the Senate and preventing the PSOE and its allies from taking control of the Upper House.
During a lunch-discussion organized by the Club Siglo XXI, Rodríguez emphasized that, in her opinion, "If I had to acknowledge one merit in his arrival to national politics, it would be that he has been the president of the Popular Party who has opened wide the doors of the PP and the entry to the institutions of a party like Vox".
In her speech, the head of Housing has maintained that this scenario transcends the mere confrontation between parties, asserting that it goes "much further than the acronyms", and has suggested that it could even generate concern among the very bases and electorate of the Popular Party.
Rodríguez has also expressed her concern, not only as a public official but also as a citizen and mother, regarding the presence in the institutions of "postulates contrary to the constitutional framework".
In this way, she has responded to a question about Feijóo's words this Tuesday, in which he admitted his negotiation with Vox to articulate a majority in the Senate because, as he argued, it would be "a mistake to facilitate sanchismo" the control of this Chamber, whether directly or indirectly, after the agreement reached between the PSOE and Frente Amplio in the Upper House.
