The Barcelona Chamber has processed to date more than 4.5 million euros from European funds, an injection that has already reached more than 5,350 companies, as detailed by the institution this Wednesday in a statement.
This work is integrated into programs deployed across the European Union (EU), which have mobilized a budget of over 49.5 million euros with direct effects on the business fabric.
Strategic areas for the Catalan economy
The actions are oriented towards areas considered key for the economic future of Catalonia, such as sustainable tourism, energy transition, adaptation to climate change, or the blue economy.
Among the projects with the greatest reach is Cross-Re-Tour, focused on promoting the presence of SMEs at international fairs to showcase their services. This program has 3.5 million euros, of which the Chamber has managed 320,000 euros.
In the case of Medusa, an initiative created to promote a sustainable and innovative tourism model, the chamber corporation has administered 180,000 euros of a total of 3.3 million euros allocated.
Tourbit and Enact programs
Additionally, Catalan companies have received support through Tourbit, focused on the digital transformation of tourism, and Enact, linked to the agri-food sector and the social economy.
Besides the volume of resources mobilized, the Chamber emphasizes that these programs have served to consolidate its role as a "reference actor in the management of European programs, the transfer of knowledge, and the support of companies in their transformation processes."
