Ibercaja has communicated to the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) that its minimum capital requirements will increase as of January 1, 2027, as a result of the entry into force this month of October of the 1% countercyclical capital buffer.
The increase in Ibercaja’s requirements has taken place automatically by half a percentage point, given that the only modification introduced has been the activation, since October, of 1% capital as a countercyclical buffer, replacing the 0.50% that had been in force until now.
Thus, from January 1, 2027, Ibercaja will have to maintain at least 8.98% CET1 capital and 13.25% total capital, which in both cases represents an increase of half a percentage point compared with the previous requirements.
The requirements corresponding to Pillar 1 remain unchanged both in CET1 capital (4.50%) and in total capital (8%), and the same applies to those of Pillar 2 (0.98% and 1.75%, respectively).
As of September 30, 2026, Ibercaja’s capital ratios are comfortably above the regulatory thresholds set by the ECB and, consequently, do not entail the implementation of any regulatory restriction or limitation, according to the entity.
