The Association of State Tax Inspectors (IHE) has expressed its deep sorrow over the fatalities from the train accident recorded between Los Yébenes and Urda (Toledo), and has likewise conveyed its solidarity and support to the injured, to their loved ones and to all those affected by this incident.

After analyzing the situation and "as a sign of respect toward the victims", the organization has chosen to maintain the holding of the working sessions of the XXXVI Congress of State Tax Inspectors, scheduled for tomorrow and the day after in Toledo, although the program will be adjusted to the circumstances arising from what happened.

The organization understands that going ahead with the Congress, aimed at the debate and study of matters of public interest linked to the tax system and to the importance of public services, constitutes in this context the most appropriate decision and the best tribute they can offer to those who have been struck by this tragic accident.

Due to these events, the Minister of Finance, Arcadi España, will ultimately not attend the opening ceremony of the Congress, as indicated by the Association.
