November arrives with a specially expected date for millions of pensioners in Spain. In addition to the usual monthly payment, this month the second extraordinary payment of the year is paid, corresponding to Christmas. However, not all beneficiaries will receive the money on the same day, since banking entities may advance the deposit according to their own payment policy.
In November 2026, the first deposits are scheduled for Monday 23, while most entities will credit the benefits between Tuesday 24 and Wednesday 25. In this way, customers of some banks will be able to have the pension and the extra payment available before the end of the month.
When you get the pension in Spain
Social Security establishes that pensions must be available in the beneficiary’s account on the first business day of the month in which the payment is made and, at the latest, before the fourth calendar day. However, many financial entities voluntarily advance the deposit to their clients, a practice that depends on their commercial policy and on the conditions of each bank.
That’s why, although the official calendar sets common deadlines, the date when the money appears in the account can vary from one entity to another. The Banco de España reminds that banks receive in advance the information about the amounts they must pay and some take advantage of that forecast to advance the payment.
What day is the pension paid in November, depending on the bank
This month, Bankinter, Unicaja and Caja de Ingenieros are among the first entities to make the deposit, with a planned date of Monday 23 November. The rest of the main banks will concentrate the deposits between the 24th and the 25th.

The dates have been communicated by the entities or collected in the payment forecasts for this month. In any case, variations may occur due to banking incidents or due to the particular conditions of each client.
November arrives with the Christmas extra payment
One of the particularities of this month is that pensioners who have been granted 14 payments will receive, together with their ordinary monthly payment, the extraordinary Christmas payment. This additional benefit is usually paid in November, while the other extra payment of the year is deposited in June.
Thus, the November payment will be higher than that of a normal month for those who are entitled to both full monthly payments. However, there is one exception: pensions derived from an accident at work or an occupational illness have the extraordinary payments prorated in the ordinary monthly payments, so they are received in 12 payments per year.
What to do if the payment does not arrive
If the pension does not appear in the account on the expected date, the first thing to do is to check the bank transactions and consult with the entity if there is any incident with the transfer. It is also advisable to verify that the account details provided to the Social Security system remain correct.
If the bank confirms that there is no problem with the payment, the pensioner can consult the status of their benefit through the official channels of the Social Security system or the Instituto Nacional de la Seguridad Social (INSS).
