The Ulloa Viva Platform has presented a resource before the Superior Court of Justice of Galicia (TSXG) against the agreement of the Xunta de Galicia that orders the filing of the project that the Portuguese company Altri was promoting in Palas de Rei (Lugo), understanding that it responds to a "strategy to leave the macrocellulose on standby."

In a note sent to the media, the platform recalls that it had already announced its intention to file an administrative resource against this resolution before the high Galician court, a procedure that the TSXG admitted for processing on September 30.

Ulloa Viva emphasizes that in this way it begins the announced "judicial battle" against the industrial initiative and specifies that at the end of October the deadline to appeal the Xunta's resolution of July 10, 1026, regarding the filing of the Gama Project, concludes.

"We warned the Xunta through all channels that the filing is not useful to us, we want the denial of the project," states the platform, which recalls that since the regional government communicated in February for the first time its intention to file the file due to the lack of electrical connection, numerous rejection actions have followed, including protests and signature collection campaigns to demand that the project be "buried."

According to Ulloa Viva, the filing that the Xunta pursues of the Gama Project "is a strategy to leave the macrocellulose on standby" and emphasizes that all the specialists who are part of the platform's working groups have agreed during this time that "putting the project in a drawer and leaving its reactivation open is not acceptable for the struggle."

"The affected neighbors warn during this time that the filing does not end our concern nor the suffering that this struggle has caused to thousands of people," they add, while describing the lack of electrical connection as an "excuse" from the Xunta to avoid addressing the substance of the matter and not admitting that "it is bad for the territory, bad for the people, bad for the Ulla River and the Ría de Arousa and incompatible with the future" of the coming generations.

The platform insists that, after four years of "struggle," it will not accept that the Galician Government "deals with a file that is not a guarantee of anything, much less of the future." "The struggle will only end when the threat from Altri and the Xunta ends," and, for this, it maintains that the only valid option is the denial of the project, of the request for water extraction from the Portodemouros reservoir, of the Integrated Environmental Authorization still pending processing, and of the declaration as "strategic industrial project."

Ulloa Viva also explains that, in order to cover the expenses derived from the judicial process, it launched a crowdfunding campaign through the Goteo platform, with which it managed to raise more than 80,000 euros intended to cover the legal, administrative, and expert strategy against Altri.
