The Minister of Health and Social Welfare of Castilla y León, Alejandro Vázquez Ramos, has stated that the Junta will shortly release the waiting lists corresponding to the third quarter and has linked the delay to the difficulties arising from the mobilizations and stoppages in public health over the negotiation of the Framework Statute, with several days of strike action throughout the year.

"We are close to publishing the waiting lists, we have nothing to hide and we will present them in the coming days (...) make no mistake about it," he insisted, stressing that these protests have meant a postponement of some weeks in the publication of the data.

In this scenario, he indicated that the processing of the new Framework Statute by the Ministry of Health is generating a complicated situation, by causing "important" tension in the health system as a whole, with mobilizations that, he emphasized, have "seriously deteriorated" healthcare throughout the national territory.

Last week, the representative of the Socialist Parliamentary Group, Virginia Jiménez Campano, questioned in the Plenary of the Cortes what the regional Executive is "hiding" amid the delay in presenting the balance of the third-quarter waiting lists in the Community.

Vázquez made these statements at the Medical Association of León, on the occasion of his participation in the Health Councillors' Day organized by the Council of Official Medical Associations of Castilla y León.
