The vice president and Minister of Economy, Finance and Innovation, Antoni Costa, has stated that the financial situation in the Balearic Islands is “frankly positive” and “has no liquidity problems,” so the Community is in a position to meet its payment obligations.

Costa made these comments this Tuesday as part of his appearance before the Finance and Budgets Commission of the Parliament, convened to provide details of the General Account of the CAIB corresponding to the 2025 financial year.

The also government spokesperson emphasized that the amount of outstanding debt has been reduced year after year since the start of the legislature and that the level of budget execution is “quite good.”

In addition, he pointed out that, with regard to the need for financing, the Community is in a situation of zero deficit or even a surplus—an approach he believes it will be able to maintain during the years 2026 and 2027.
