The Iranian Foreign Minister, Abbas Araqchi, highlighted this Friday the capability of the country's Armed Forces to stand up to their rivals, emphasizing their level of preparedness and military potential against the United States, which he described as "the most expensive army in the world."

"The powerful Armed Forces of Iran have demonstrated their preparedness, capability, and might against the most expensive army in the world," Araqchi stated in a message shared on social media, where he underscored the reaction and response capability of the Iranian military.

The top official of Iranian diplomacy took the opportunity to call for greater unity among Muslim countries and communities in the face of what he considers threats from abroad.

"When Muslims stand united, we can face any challenge posed by malicious external enemies," he pointed out.

In this same vein, Araqchi has advocated for increasing autonomy against major foreign powers and has urged strengthening ties among Muslims.

"It is time to rely solely on ourselves and embrace true brotherhood," he concluded.

These statements come after Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Turkey signed a historic joint defense agreement this Friday in the Saudi city of Mecca, with the goal of strengthening their collective deterrence capability in a context of rising tensions in the Middle East.

This pact --signed by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman; Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif-- reflects "the shared commitment" to "further strengthen" collective security, as well as to "promote peace, security, and stability in the region and beyond, in pursuit of a safe and prosperous future."
