At least 22 civilians have lost their lives and another 30 have been injured in a bombing attributed to Saudi aviation over the district of Bani Hashish, in the Sana’a region, capital of Yemen, according to the complaint of the Houthi authorities, who maintain control of this area since 2014.

The Ministry of Health has confirmed this toll of fatalities after the attack on several civilian homes, in which most of the dead and injured would be women and children, according to the official Houthi news agency, Saba. Among the injured is also a cameraman for the Al Masirá TV channel.

The Yemeni government has condemned the “horrific massacre” in which the houses were completely razed with their occupants inside and has denounced the “continued attacks on civilians, ambulance service workers and rescue teams” in “a deliberate violation of international humanitarian law”.

The president of the Supreme Political Council established by the Houthis in Yemen, Mahdi Mohamed al Mashat, has assured that he will respond to these deaths. “We promise that all the martyrs of our people will obtain revenge against the killer of children and women (...). We are going to punish them for their crimes, for attacks on markets and homes like those of the Zionists,” he added.
