The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Abbas Araqchi, has again transferred to the United States this Sunday his ceasefire offer, which provides for its implementation within a period of two days once the midterm elections of last Tuesday have been held, in which the US president, Donald Trump, suffered a significant political setback.

"US voters have chosen. It is time for the White House to do the same. Our two-day proposal remains in place: meet the requirements, including an end to the war on all fronts, and you will see the results," Araqchi said in a message circulated through social media.

On the other hand, the head of Iranian diplomacy has warned of the consequences if Washington opts to continue along the military path. Thus, Araqchi proposes, "choose war and see how our fighters, alert and hardened by battle, make hell rain down," he stressed.

The initiative from Tehran, announced publicly in early November, includes the reopening of the strategic Strait of Hormuz within a period of two days after the established conditions are met: lifting the US naval blockade, resumption of crude oil trade —including Iranian exports— and establishment of a ceasefire on all open fronts.
