The Ministry of Defense of Kuwait has communicated this Sunday a series of projectile attacks directed against three checkpoints in the country's northern border area, as well as against infrastructure belonging to the state oil company.
According to a spokesman for the Ministry, Saud Abdulaziz Al-Atwan, in a message disseminated on social networks, three of these border posts have been the target of a "treacherous aggression" that has caused various material damages.
The official statement also mentions an attack perpetrated by a "hostile" drone against an oil platform located in the waters of the Persian Gulf and operated by the state-owned Kuwait Oil Company, an incident that has left one worker injured and caused damage to the facility.
In parallel, the Central Command of the United States Army (CENTCOM) has reported attacks against Iran following the Revolutionary Guard's offensive against the commercial vessel flying a Cypriot flag that allegedly ignored its instructions, which has led to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz "until further notice".
This exchange of attacks occurs at a particularly sensitive time for the talks between Iran and the United States, after a week marked by multiple bombings and a new ultimatum from Washington for Tehran to publicly announce on Saturday the unrestricted opening of the Strait of Hormuz.
