More than twenty Palestinians have been injured this Saturday by gunfire, beatings, or poisoning from tear gas in a new series of assaults carried out by settlers and Israeli forces in various localities of the West Bank, a region that has been suffering a resurgence of this type of incursions for weeks.
The most serious episode has been recorded in the south of Hebron, in the area of Wad al Rajim, where eleven Palestinians have been injured, one of them by live ammunition, during an attack by settlers, according to local organizations that have informed the official Palestinian news agency Wafa and the Palestinian agency Safa.
In the town of Tubas, another 15 Palestinians have required medical assistance after inhaling tear gas launched by the Israeli Army, according to a report by the Palestinian Red Crescent Society.
An unspecified number of Palestinians have also required attention for asphyxiation during an operation by the Israeli Army in the Dheisheh refugee camp, south of Bethlehem, as well as in the town of Al Mughayir, located northwest of Ramallah.
At the same time, the Commission for Resistance to the Wall and Settlements, an agency of the Palestinian government responsible for monitoring the expansion of Israeli settlements and attacks in occupied West Bank, has warned this Saturday that Israel has launched a tender to build 627 new homes in settlements near Al Biré, with a deadline for submitting bids at the end of next month.
These homes will be built in the Israeli settlement of Kokhav Ya'akov, which, according to the Commission for Resistance to the Wall and Settlements, "will deepen the separation between Jerusalem and its Palestinian surroundings and the governorate of Ramallah and Al Biré."
