At least one person has lost their life and five others have been injured this Tuesday in a new attack against the Russian region of Belgorod, bordering Ukraine, according to local authorities.
"A woman lost her life due to the detonation of a drone in the locality of Gora-Podol, in the district of Graivoron," they indicated in a message disseminated via Telegram, where they specified that another woman has suffered serious shrapnel wounds in the thigh and neck in the city of Shebekino.
"She is being transferred to a regional hospital," they clarified, before stating that also a vehicle has been hit by a drone in Oktiabrski, where several people have been injured, to which another injured person in Proletarski must be added.
In recent months, Ukrainian troops have increased this type of actions on Russian territory with the aim of diverting part of Moscow's forces from the front line in eastern Ukraine, where they continue their advance within an invasion that has been ongoing for more than four years now.
The Russian regions bordering Ukraine, including Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, and Voronezh, regularly report the fall of projectiles, drone attacks, and armed incursions from the other side of the border, which forces many residents to leave their homes and seek refuge in safer areas.
