The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has charged this Sunday against the Ukrainian leader, Volodymyr Zelensky, whom he blames for prolonging the war conflict due to the economic resources he has obtained from European countries and the previous U.S. administration, considering that "he does not want to end this war."

"With all the money that, as is well known, Europe is giving him and that 'Twisted' Joe Biden gave him before, he does not want to end this war and probably never wanted to," Trump stated in a message posted on social media.

The Republican leader argues that the Ukrainian president would have had the opportunity to close the conflict under better conditions two years ago and that then "a better agreement than he can achieve now" would have been possible. In his opinion, the current situation in the country is desolate: "His country is a chaos, a large part of its territory has been lost, its oceans and seas are no longer there and its male population is at a minimum, injured and/or dead," he argued before emphasizing: "I want this war to end!"

In relation to the agreement for the acquisition of Russian diesel, Trump frames it in the contacts aimed at ending the war. He has stressed that his priority is not to hinder dialogue with Moscow and has explained that "I do not want to do anything that foolishly pushes Russia away from the negotiating table."

According to Trump, "great progress is being made" on the diplomatic front and he has specifically highlighted the talks aimed at a possible prisoner exchange between the opposing parties.

The U.S. president has also justified his refusal to sign the so-called Graham Law, which contemplated new sanctions against Russia. In his view, "signing that document at this moment would" make the Kremlin abandon the talks. Furthermore, he has warned that now "Russia is doing very little to help the Islamic Republic of Iran compared to what it could be doing" and added: "I want it to stay that way and it will be unless stupid people get in the way."

Trump has also reiterated his criticisms of the Ukrainian attacks on Russian refineries, which, according to him, are causing "serious economic damage" "also in the United States." In this regard, he has indicated that "farmers, ranchers, and businesses of all kinds are being greatly affected, but Russia continues to send millions of barrels of diesel at low prices," which, in his opinion, distorts the markets and exacerbates the impact on American productive sectors.
