The President of the United States, Donald Trump, communicated this Thursday that the Peace Board has closed a deal for the "total disarmament" of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and "other armed groups" in the Gaza Strip, emphasizing that, thanks to this, the territory will be under the authority of "a new Palestinian government at the service of its people."
"Today, the Peace Board has reached a historic agreement for the total disarmament of Hamas and the rest of the armed groups in Gaza," the leader pointed out in a post on social media, in which he defended this advance as a "monumental step towards lasting peace and security."
As highlighted by the Republican leader, with this understanding Gaza will finally be led "by a new Palestinian government" that will be "at the service of its people" and that, in addition, "will work closely with the Peace Board to help the Palestinian people."
