The Central Command of the United States Army (CENTCOM) reported this Tuesday that its troops have carried out new bombings on facilities linked to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard in various locations within Iranian territory, following the recent series of attacks executed by the U.S. Armed Forces against Larek Island.
"Today at 12:00 hours, U.S. forces have begun to attack targets of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard in Iran. The attacks follow recent attempts by the Revolutionary Guard to attack commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and against U.S. service members deployed in the region," it stated on social media.
In recent months, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, has reiterated on several occasions that Washington would have nullified Iran's military capability thanks to the offensive launched on February 28 alongside Israel. However, armed clashes have continued sporadically, with a new exchange of attacks recorded in the last hours.
The president, in statements prior to Fox News, had already indicated that U.S. forces would respond firmly and hit hard" at Iran for its most recent actions against U.S. interests in Jordan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), carried out as retaliation for Washington's bombings on Larak Island, the first after almost a month without attacks.
