A man was arrested this Friday in Tarragona after approaching Santiago Abascal during his visit to the city and starring in an incident with the president of Vox. According to the account later provided by Abascal, the individual approached with the intention of attacking him and even spat at him.
The bodyguards of the Vox leader intervened to subdue the man, who was subsequently arrested by agents of the Mossos d'Esquadra. According to the information disseminated about the incident, the arrested person is Josep Sancho i Masip.
The incident occurred while Abascal was in Tarragona as part of the tour that Vox is conducting in Catalonia. Several people also gathered in the vicinity to protest against the presence of the party and shouted slogans against its members. The situation generated moments of tension and required the presence of a police deployment.
Later, during the event held in Barcelona alongside the general secretary of Vox and leader of the party in Catalonia, Ignacio Garriga, Abascal referred to the episode that occurred in the morning and again denounced the attempted aggression.
The rally in Barcelona was also marked by moments of tension due to the possibility that a demonstration against Vox would access the area where the event was taking place.
During his speech, Abascal also made several criticisms of the government of Pedro Sánchez and urged the supporters of his party not to be overconfident in light of any favorable results that may be reflected in an electoral poll.
Alvise Pérez expresses solidarity with Abascal
The leader of Se Acabó La Fiesta, Alvise Pérez, spoke about the incident through social media. In a message published after the events, he condemned the attempted aggression against Abascal and highlighted the actions of his security team.
Pérez also pointed out that the fact that, according to his message, no aggressions suffered by members of Se Acabó La Fiesta have been condemned should not prevent condemning an episode of this type when it affects the leader of Vox.
We strongly condemn the attempted aggression against Santiago Abascal.

That no one condemns the attempts of aggression that we suffer in SALF does not justify that it is not condemned when he suffers it.
Congratulations to his security team.
