The president of the PP and candidate for the Presidency of the Government, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, has assured that, if he manages to reach La Moncloa, he will eliminate all Spanish regulations that impose on the agricultural sector obligations higher than those at the European level, considering that the effort of the rural world deserves greater “respect”.

“Any obligation above the European standard will be abolished,” the ‘popular’ leader emphasized in Valladolid, at his first campaign rally after the railway accident, at an event in which the provincial president of the PP, Conrado Íscar, had previously spoken; the mayor of Valladolid and candidate for the Senate, Jesús Julio Carnero; the head of the list to the Congress, María Pardo; and the party’s regional president, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco.

In the capital of Valladolid, Feijóo has emphasized that this is the time to pay attention to the countryside of Castilla y León and has insisted that the daily work of farmers and ranchers “deserves respect”.

“That is why I tell you enough of a Government turned its back on the countryside and on the towns. Enough of policies that regulate the countryside without knowing it and without it mattering to them. We will call for a regulatory moratorium in Europe,” the leader of the PP added, calling for a change in approach toward the rural environment.
