The president of the Popular Party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, participated this Sunday in an event of the Catalan PP held in the Parc del Centenari of Badalona alongside the president of the PPC, Alejandro Fernández, and the mayor of the city, Xavier García Albiol. The meeting is part of the party's strategy to strengthen its presence in Catalonia ahead of the upcoming electoral cycle.
The political day in Catalonia has also been marked by the coincidence with the PSC event in Gavà, where the president of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, and the president of the Generalitat, Salvador Illa, participated. The presence of both national leaders at events of their respective parties has positioned Catalonia as one of the main political scenarios at the beginning of this term.
The PP event in Badalona has also been held amid controversy over the use of municipal resources. The groups Guanyem Badalona and Badalona en Comú have announced actions before the Anti-Fraud Office of Catalonia for the alleged use of municipal channels and media to promote the event. The City Council maintains that the event is organized and financed by the PP.

Badalona, one of the focal points of the PP in Catalonia
The choice of Badalona for this event occurs at a time when the PP seeks to strengthen its presence in Catalonia. The party currently has six deputies in Congress from this community and aims to increase its representation in the upcoming general elections.
The presence of Feijóo alongside Albiol also highlights the management of the Badalona City Council, governed by the PP, and the party's discourse on issues such as security and immigration.
The popular leader will continue his agenda this Monday in Ceuta, where he is scheduled to travel with a delegation from the European People's Party led by its president, Manfred Weber.
