Hundreds of people of Maghreb origin have reached the coast of Ceuta this Friday coming from Morocco, many of them swimming and others skirting the border breakwater, while a crowd remains concentrated on the other side of the fence waiting to be able to access the autonomous city through the same routes. In the last seven days, the number of migrants who have managed to enter through this point already exceeds 2,000 people.
The Civil Guard maintains a large device at the southern border with the aim of curbing the increase in irregular accesses. From the Government Delegation, it is insisted that the Moroccan Gendarmerie is providing support on the ground. However, sources from the benemérita in the city maintain that this collaboration is rather limited and does not manage to alleviate the strong migratory pressure that is recorded in the area.
In light of the evolution of events, the Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, has communicated that this Friday he will travel to Ceuta to follow the situation on the ground together with the president of the City, Juan Vivas, and the Government delegate, Miguel Ángel Pérez Triano.
