The president of the Junta de Andalucía in the XIII legislature, Juanma Moreno, will celebrate this Sunday in Seville the official investiture ceremony, to which about 300 people are summoned and which will take place in the gardens of the Palacio de San Telmo, headquarters of the Andalusian Presidency.
The ceremony is scheduled for 9:30 AM. Juanma Moreno's investiture will take place after he was invested last Thursday, in a second vote in the Andalusian Parliament, as president of the Junta of the XIII legislature thanks to the support of the 53 deputies from PP-A and the 15 from Vox, a party with which he previously signed a "Government and Stability Agreement for Andalusia".
Juanma Moreno, who is entering his third consecutive term at the head of the regional Executive, will take office this Sunday, 49 days after the Andalusian elections on May 17. In those elections, PP-A did not manage to renew the absolute majority of the previous legislature, falling to 53 out of the 109 seats in the regional Parliament.
This scenario led him to open conversations with Vox, which obtained 15 deputies, both for his investiture and to guarantee the stability of the legislature. As a result of these negotiations, the "Government and Stability Agreement for Andalusia" was reached, comprising 150 measures, including the "national priority" demanded by Santiago Abascal's party. In addition, Moreno is incorporating the Vox spokesperson in the Andalusian Parliament, Manuel Gavira, into his Executive as vice-president of the Junta and minister of Tourism, Deregulation, Justice, and Local Administration.
Sources from the Junta have explained to Europa Press that the event will be held in the gardens of the Palacio de San Telmo, thus modifying the setting compared to the investiture ceremony of July 2022, which took place on the street, on Paseo de Roma, in front of the main facade of the palace, and brought together 600 guests.
During the ceremony, the president of the Parliament of Andalusia, Jesús Aguirre, will speak first, responsible for reading the appointment document. Following this, Juanma Moreno will deliver his speech as the new president of the Junta.
Representing the central government, the Secretary of State for Territorial Policy, Miryam Álvarez, and the sub-delegate of the Government in Málaga, Javier Salas, will attend the event.
