The president of the PNV, Aitor Esteban, has stated that it is possible to push forward a decree of urgent measures in housing that protects citizens against "terrible and unacceptable" situations, although he has pointed out that it will only be viable if the political formations set aside their "maximum" positions.
During his speech at the 'Alderdi Eguna' ('Party Day') of the PNV, held this Sunday in Foronda (Álava), Esteban admitted that there are relevant social "problems," including access to housing.
The jeltzale leader emphasized that this issue "concerns and occupies" his party, and he highlighted that the PNV is working "at all institutional levels" with the aim of facilitating "more housing for the middle classes and for young people."
Referring to the decree of urgent housing measures being prepared by the central government, he warned that "society cannot be frustrated by wanting to go to each one's electoral program." According to him, "there are some parties that go to the maximum, and what needs to be done is to go to the minimum common denominator among all, but that saves from terrible and unacceptable situations."
The leader of the PNV has defended that an agreement "can be made," although he has warned that it will be impossible to achieve "if each one is thinking about the next electoral proclamation." "We will see what happens," he concluded.
