The Government has made an explicit appeal to the responsibility of families after a weekend marked by Halloween, in which the security forces and corps have arrested numerous minors for promoting and joining the calls for "Blocus" to carry out acts of vandalism and looting in shops, such as the one that occurred in Barcelona on October 24.

At the press conference after the Council of Ministers, the Government Spokesperson, Elma Saiz, has highlighted the operations of the National Police, the Civil Guard and also the regional and local police, including the Mossos d'Esquadra, aimed at preventing new violent episodes linked to this movement that takes as a reference the violent protests recorded in France.

"There is important judicial work in order to convey this to the families themselves, because we are talking about minors," Elma Saiz has pointed out, in line with what was stated by the President of the Generalitat of Catalonia, Salvador Illa, after the serious disturbances in Barcelona on October 24.

Saiz has described these calls spread through social networks as "very worrying" and has directly appealed to the parents of the minors to send them a "message of responsibility".

The Government Spokesperson has admitted that the Executive is still following this escalation of violence carried out by adolescents with concern and has underlined that the Government has already put on the table "important measures to protect digital health" and curb hate speech on digital platforms.

"What happens on social networks is not harmless, we have a lot at stake as a country in that access of minors to social networks," she has added.
