The Government has no intention of having the ministers summoned by the PP in the Senate next week to explain the management of the migration crisis in Ceuta finally appear in the Upper House, and refers to the interventions that the Executive itself has requested to carry out in Congress at the end of the month.
This is indicated by government sources after the 'popular' party, which has an absolute majority in the Senate, has scheduled for next week the appearances in committee of the heads of Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, and Defense, Margarita Robles, and, for the following week, that of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albares.
The PP had also demanded to convene the Permanent Deputation of Congress, the only operational body during non-working periods, in order to decide whether to compel these three ministers to attend before September, when the ordinary activity of the Chamber will resume. They also demanded the presence of the Minister of the Presidency and Justice, Félix Bolaños, before the Joint Commission (Congress-Senate) of National Security.
However, this Friday the Government has communicated that Maslaska, Robles, Albares, and Bolaños have registered their appearances on their own initiative in the Lower House and have proposed that they take place in the last week of August.
In this context, from Moncloa they indicate that it is not contemplated that the members of the Executive will respond to the summons of the Senate, something that has already happened at other times during the legislature, and that they will limit themselves to informing in Congress about their actions in the migration crisis of Ceuta.

The 'popular' party also aspires for the Permanent Deputation of Congress, which in principle does not plan to meet until the end of August, to force the calling of an extraordinary Plenary so that the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, is the one to provide explanations about what happened in the autonomous city, an appearance that the Executive does not contemplate for now.
In addition, the PP has maintained the request for the appearance of the director of the President of the Government's Cabinet, Diego Rubio, before the Joint Commission (Congress-Senate) of National Security, to clarify the dismissal of a civil servant from that body, dependent on his department, after publishing on the official website information about the irregular entry of thousands of people into Ceuta.
