King Felipe VI has highlighted the "good message" that the "exemplary coordination" among the different administrations involved in the firefighting tasks sends, also emphasizing that "together we can face any risk."
The head of State made these statements at the La Chopera sports center, in the Madrid municipality of Villamanta, where, accompanied by Queen Letizia, he attended to the media and wanted to convey his affection to the people who have had to be evacuated due to the advance of the fire.
During their visit, the Kings expressed their understanding and solidarity with the displaced neighbors, who "have had a very hard time." Felipe VI recalled that "some have already been out of their homes for four days. Some have lost many belongings. Overall, we have lost an incalculable natural heritage," emphasizing the human and environmental impact of the fires.
