The counselor of Agriculture, Livestock, and Rural Development of the Junta de Castilla y León has announced that this Wednesday the payment of 575 million euros corresponding to the advance of direct payments of the CAP for 2026 for 48,600 recipients will be made. As he explained, this advance aims to inject immediate liquidity into the agricultural sector to facilitate the acquisition of seeds, fertilizers, diesel, or feed and other complementary food for livestock.
In parallel, the regional government is analyzing additional support formulas for the countryside, conditioned on the budgetary capacity of the regional Administration.
Pino reviewed yesterday the work carried out at the head of the Ministry in his first hundred days of management and presented the main short-term challenges, in a statement in the Cortes motivated by an interpellation from the PSOE.
In this context, he announced that in "the coming days" he will disclose the cost studies of grapes in the Denomination of Origin Ribera del Duero, to which those related to cow's milk and corn have been added, after recalling that the cost studies of potatoes and grapes from the DO Rueda have already been presented.
"We have agreed on an annual calendar to present the cost studies of the products and initiated actions against the destruction of value, we are going to enforce the Food Chain Law to protect the weakest link, which are the farmers and ranchers," he stated.
Likewise, he indicated that, along with the potato sector, the Ministry will take a "further step" with the aim of promoting a quality brand that distinguishes its origin, its particularities, and "generates more value for the producer."
On the other hand, he announced that in the next hundred days the Junta will undertake the reform of the Hunting Law, with the intention of eliminating "anachronistic" procedures and incorporating tools such as the use of night vision devices or digital seals. The Animal Health Law will also be modified to reduce "unnecessary bureaucracy and strengthen the role of authorized veterinarians."
These measures are complemented by the activation of 30 million euros linked to the Agricultural Crisis Reserve, aimed at alleviating the increase in fuel prices, as well as the internal reassignment of another 20 million euros within the Ministry's budget.
In addition, it is expected to promote specific actions for cereal and beekeeping, sectors "strongly affected by the rise in costs and the weather conditions of the last campaign".
