Food&Drinks, the restaurant vertical of CaixaBank, reaches its fifth anniversary since its launch with a 30% increase in its customer base. In this way, the entity surpasses 116,000 establishments adhered to this segment, recording an average annual advance of more than 5%.

This boost has made it so that 35% of the billing of these businesses (compared to 25.5% in 2020) is managed through CaixaBank, as detailed by the entity in a statement released this Tuesday.

CaixaBank launched Food&Drinks in February 2021 with the aim of specializing its activity with bars, restaurants, and cafes. In this five-year period, it has closed more than 100,000 operations, for a total amount exceeding 2.5 billion euros.

The expansion of Food&Drinks is framed within the growing economic importance of the restaurant industry in Spain, a "key area" due to its contribution to employment, tourism, and the dynamism of the business fabric.

SECTOR PARTNER

In this scenario, CaixaBank has been consolidating its position through a "comprehensive proposal that goes beyond financing."

With this trajectory, the entity strengthens its role as a financial partner of the restaurant industry, "in an environment marked by digitalization, the need for efficiency, and the transformation of business models in the restaurant industry."

Also, on the occasion of this fifth anniversary, CaixaBank has launched the book "Singular Restaurants," a work that highlights restaurant projects spread across different points in Spain for their gastronomic proposal, their business journey, and their ability to adapt to the new challenges of the sector.
