The Ministry of Rural Environment and Agricultural Policy has made this Thursday the payment of more than 14.2 million euros in advances of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) of 2026, directed to more than 5,500 livestock farms in the Principality.
The regional government emphasizes that this disbursement fulfills the commitments made by the president of the Principality, Adrián Barbón, in the Political Orientation Debate, as well as what was agreed in the Pact for Rural Environment, where it was established to advance the collection of these aids to October to reinforce the liquidity of the livestock farms.
Within this first package of payments, more than 7.4 million are allocated to beef cattle, with 4,512 recipient farms, while more than 6.8 million are assigned to dairy cattle, with 1,006 beneficiaries. The total amount paid exceeds by almost 8.2 million the volume mobilized in the same dates of the previous year.
Payments in the first week and advance calendar
From Rural Environment, they emphasize that the Government of Asturias has begun to deposit the aids in the first week of the authorized period, in line with the commitments made with the sector in the Political Orientation Debate and the Pact for Rural Environment. The advance calendar will extend until November 30, with a forecast of disbursements reaching 38.8 million.
The European Commission has authorized greater flexibility in this campaign, allowing the anticipation of up to 75% of direct aids.
Specific support for the beekeeping sector
Likewise, the Government of Asturias has transferred this Thursday 319,189.41 euros in aids aimed at the beekeeping sector, benefiting two associations and 31 beekeepers.
These subsidies, corresponding to the Beekeeping Sector Intervention of 2026, aim to promote the production and marketing of honey, in addition to strengthening the health, protection, and viability of the hives.
