The Comisión Nacional de los Mercados y la Competencia (CNMC) has given its approval for Condis to acquire the remaining 66% of Roges Supermercats, thereby going on to exercise exclusive control over this Catalan supermarket chain.

Both companies detailed this Tuesday in a joint note that, in a resolution dated October 26, the regulator determined that the operation "does not pose a threat to effective competition in the markets in which they operate" for both.

With this authorization, the process begun in June 2024 is brought to completion, when Condis took a 33% stake in the capital of Roges, a family firm from the Bages region (Barcelona) with more than 80 years of history, which manages 26 stores, recorded revenue of 31.7 million euros in the past financial year and expects to reach 32.8 million this year.

According to the statement, with the purchase of the 66% of Roges at the end of the year, the ceo of Roges, Pilar Laimon, "leaves behind a consolidated company and prepared to face a new stage", focusing on maintaining the continuity of the teams in the central departments and the different workplaces.

Condis valuation and new stage for Roges

The general director of Condis, Manel Romero, has underscored that Roges brings a solid track record and a team they consider key, and has encouraged the clientele and the workforce to experience this change as an "opportunity".

From Condis they maintain that the integration will make it possible to unite capabilities and resources, reinforcing "a model based on physical and product proximity, and on the contribution to the economic and social fabric of the municipalities in which it operates".
