The Protected Geographical Indication (IGP) Faba Asturiana has proceeded with the renewal of its Regulatory Council, keeping Gerardo Nieto González at the head of the chair, and has launched the campaign "Ye única" to mark the 30th anniversary of this quality figure.

Nieto, who represents the packaging-processing sector through Campoastur Productos y Servicios Sociedad Cooperativa Asturiana, will continue to hold the position of president after completing his first year in the direction of the body. The vice presidency passes to Francisco Pérez-Puchal Osoro, representing the producing sector.

In the new composition of the Regulatory Council, Iván Alonso Rodríguez also appears, on behalf of Codilex Alimentación Tradicional, and Roberto Suárez Martínez as members of the packaging-processing sector. From the producing side, Iulia Codau and Tamara Fernández Cimadevilla join as members, while the secretariat rests with Sonia Vinjoy López.

This institutional reorganization takes place coinciding with the 30th anniversary of the IGP Faba Asturiana, whose official recognition was entered on 12 June 1996 in the state register of differentiating quality figures.

To celebrate this milestone, the IGP has released the campaign "Ye única", focused on highlighting the uniqueness of the Asturian faba bean and the work of those who produce it, placing the spotlight on tradition, effort, care in cultivation, and generational renewal in the countryside.

The Faba Asturiana IGP corresponds to the commercial variety "Granja Asturiana" and its production is carried out entirely on farms located in Asturias. The product reaches the market already packaged and is distinguished by a numbered counter-label and the official logo of the Regulatory Council.

From the IGP they remind that consumers have a list of suppliers and the possibility of making purchases through its website.
