The regional Government has approved a budget of 400,000 euros aimed at strengthening the work of the Regulatory Councils of the Protected Designations of Origin, the Geographical Indications, and the Council of Organic Agriculture. The Official Bulletin of the Region of Murcia (BORM) publishes this Friday the call for aid corresponding to the 2026 fiscal year, a line of economic support aimed at backing the production and marketing of differentiated quality agri-food products, as well as the development of organic agriculture in the Community.
The counselor of Water, Agriculture, Livestock, and Fishing, Joaquín Buendía, has emphasized the strategic value of these subsidies to strengthen the positioning of the Murcian agri-food sector in national and international markets. In this line, he recalled that "our differentiated quality products and organic agriculture represent the highest expression of rigor, tradition, and sustainability of our garden and our fields. Investing in them is betting on the future, differentiation, and profitability of our farmers and ranchers."
Buendía has also highlighted the pioneering nature of the Region of Murcia, which has more than 30 percent of its agricultural area certified as organic, placing it at the forefront of the transition to a more sustainable and environmentally friendly production system.
PROMOTION AND CONTROL
The aid called is aimed at covering the direct costs linked to the ordinary performance of these control and certification entities. Among the financeable concepts are the campaigns and promotional actions aimed at disseminating and valuing the products covered by the different quality seals, as well as the implementation and development of strict control and certification mechanisms, which ensure the consumer the excellence and authenticity of the final product.
