The Popular Party of Teruel has registered in the Commission of Housing, Promotion, Logistics, and Territorial Cohesion of the Cortes of Aragon a non-legislative proposal with which it intends to urge the Government of Spain to complete the works of the N-330 between Teruel and Villastar and to establish a detailed planning for the comprehensive improvement of this road up to the limit with the province of Cuenca.
The regional deputy of the PP for Teruel, Javier Domingo, has recalled that the works were initiated in 2022 with a two-year execution period and that, four years later, they continue to be unfinished.
"Today we talk about a road, but above all we talk about the neighbors, transporters, and companies that have been waiting too many years for a solution. It is not a new demand from the Popular Party: it is the mayors, the neighbors, and the users who have been claiming a safer road with greater capacity for years," Domingo has pointed out.
The 'popular' parliamentarian has criticized that "the delays and the lack of planning by the Government of Spain reappear in Teruel whenever we talk about infrastructure" and has emphasized that during this time users have had to endure detours, cuts, delays, and continuous disruptions.
For his part, the mayor of Libros, Raúl Arana, has stressed that "the neighbors are tired of works that should have been finished years ago and that continue to affect the circulation and the day-to-day of those who use this road." He has demanded that the works be completed as soon as possible and that a solution tailored to the real needs of the municipalities of the Ribera del Turia be guaranteed.
Likewise, the mayor of Villel, José María Pérez, has expressed that "the problem does not end in Teruel and Villastar" and demands that intervention also take place along the rest of the route of the N-330 to Cuenca.
"We have a road that supports heavy traffic and presents narrow sections and safety problems. We cannot continue living with patches; we need a comprehensive action," he has stated.
Completion of the works and future planning
The PP's proposal demands the immediate completion of the works between Teruel and Villastar, minimize the disruptions while the works are ongoing, and establish a schedule with specific deadlines for the improvement of the entire route of the N-330 up to the provincial limit with Cuenca, without subordinating this intervention to the decision on the A-40.
Domingo has emphasized that "Teruel does not ask for privileges. The neighbors of the Ribera del Turia ask for a safe, dignified road that meets the needs of their territory."
"It has been too many years waiting, too many delays, and too many patches. The time has come for the Government of Spain to stop giving deadlines that are not met and start providing answers," he concluded.
