The plenary session of the Parliament has agreed this Thursday to urge the Government to launch, within a maximum of 6 months, two semi-direct trains per direction on the R16 line that do not make stops at any station between Tarragona and Barcelona.
This measure is part of a motion by ERC that was approved with the support of all groups, except for the abstention of the PSC, and which also proposes the launch of a shuttle service between the stations of Ulldecona and l'Aldea-Amposta-Tortosa, mainly linked to Avant services.
In another point of the same motion, also approved in the plenary session, the Government is urged to carry out the "necessary steps" with the Government to re-establish, within a maximum of 6 months, the stop of the Euromed long-distance and high-speed trains at the l'Aldea station (Tarragona), ensuring at least two stops per direction.
In addition, the Parliament has demanded that on the R15 line, at least one daily semi-direct train per direction between Terres de l'Ebre (Tarragona) and Barcelona be implemented before the end of the first quarter of 2027, without stops from Tarragona onwards, in order to shorten the journey time.
Rodalies and connection with the Airport
The plenary session has also given the green light to another point of a motion by the Comuns that urges the Generalitat to commission a study to incorporate into the Government Plan, before 2030, the planned service between Sant Andreu and El Prat Airport, extending its route and being operated by Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC).
Likewise, another proposal has been approved that calls on the Government to urge Adif to adapt the new access branch to the airport to allow the circulation of all Rodalies train series, after it was built "with a design that prevents it according to fire safety regulations".
