The Administrative Litigation Section of the Court of Instance of Madrid has rejected the precautionary measures proposed by the Association for the Defense of the Environment and for Sustainable Urbanism, which aimed to suspend the license linked to the Formula 1 Grand Prix related to the construction of hospitality facilities, the grandstands, and the walkways.
As indicated by sources from the City Council to Europa Press, the appealing entity sought with this request to temporarily halt the execution of these works until the judicial body resolved on the merits of the dispute.
The court dismisses agreeing to the precautionary suspension as it understands that it would entail "a serious disturbance of the general interests" by "preventing attendance" at the event "by a large number of motorsport fans" who will attend the Madring circuit, located in the vicinity of Ifema Madrid, between September 11 and 13.
In relation to this procedure, the City Council emphasizes that the Spanish Grand Prix will take place that weekend with "guarantees" and with "legal comfort" following the granting of the definitive licenses.
