The Attorney General of the State, Teresa Peramato, plans to travel this Thursday to Ceuta, where she will hold a meeting at 11:30 a.m. with the president of the autonomous city, Juan Jesús Vivas, at the Assembly Palace. As part of this agenda, she will also visit a juvenile center following the arrival of tens of thousands of migrants on July 30.
As noted by the Attorney General's Office (FGE), Peramato will be accompanied to Ceuta by the Chief Prosecutor of Andalusia, Ana Tárrago, and by the Coordinator Prosecutor for Minors of the FGE, Teresa Gisbert.
The day will begin at 10:00 a.m. with a meeting with the team of prosecutors from the Ceuta Area at the Palace of Justice. Subsequently, at 11:30 a.m., the delegation will move to the Assembly Palace to hold the institutional meeting with President Vivas.
In addition, the Attorney General of the State will meet with the Government Delegate in the autonomous city, Miguel Angel Pérez Triano, at 12:30 p.m. On the same afternoon, the delegation has scheduled a visit to a juvenile center.
The trip comes just days after the Superior Court of Justice of Andalusia (TSJA) approved two new agreements to strengthen the functioning of justice in Ceuta, including a double guard schedule for judges and the offer of a service commission to support the judicial position that, among other matters, handles cases of violence against women.
According to the General Council of the Judiciary (CGPJ), these measures are adopted following the letter sent this Monday by the Secretary of State for Justice, Manuel Olmedo, to the Secretary General of the CGPJ, Miguel Hernández, in which the Government requested an urgent reinforcement of the Ceuta courts after the massive entry of immigrants on July 30 and 31. This document has been given "immediate transfer" to the Permanent Commission of the CGPJ.
On one hand, the TSJA decided to set a schedule that guarantees the presence of two on-duty judges in the judicial district of the autonomous city "until the situation normalizes." This initiative is based on Article 47 of the Regulation on Accessory Aspects of Judicial Proceedings.
