The Instruction Section (Plaza 3) of the Court of Instance of Soria has decided to extend for one more month, starting from August 22, the secrecy of the proceedings of operation "Fuentona", an investigation in which a search was carried out at the City Hall of Soria and seven people were initially arrested. At the same time, the judicial body has given the green light to the participation of the PP as a popular accusation, after the acceptance of Vox's participation, as sources from the Superior Court of Justice of Castilla y León (TSJCyL) have indicated to Europa Press.
The operation "Fuentona" involved the search of the Sorian city council headquarters on June 23 for possible irregularities that could fit into different criminal types, as well as the detention of seven people, including the former councilor of Environment, Tourism, and Commerce of the City Hall, Yolanda Santos, who were later released.
The investigation was carried out by the Organic Unit of Judicial Police (UOPJ) of the Civil Guard of Soria and, from the beginning, the judicial authority agreed on the secret nature of the proceedings. Now, that secrecy is extended for an additional month, starting from this July 22.
The investigations are being coordinated by the Command of the Civil Guard of Soria, through its Organic Unit of Judicial Police, driven by the Prosecutor's Office of the Provincial Court and under the direction of the Court of Instance Plaza number 3.
In this case, the possible commission of crimes of influence peddling, administrative prevarication, negotiations and activities prohibited to public officials, document forgery, money laundering, and criminal organization are being investigated initially, all of which are contemplated and sanctioned in the Spanish Penal Code.
