The magistrate of the National Court who is instructing the 'Leire Díez case', Santiago Pedraz, has set for August 5 the appearance of Juan Manuel Serrano, former chief of staff of the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, and former president of Correos, in order to proceed with the cloning of his mobile phone.
The citation appears in a provision to which Europa Press has had access, within the investigation into alleged rigging in contracts of the Spanish Society of Industrial Participations (SEPI) and about a supposed plot aimed at destabilizing judicial proceedings that affect the Government and the PSOE.
Pedraz has summoned the former head of Correos on August 5 at 10:00 hours to verify the cloning already carried out by the Civil Guard after intervening his device and deeming it valid "for its incorporation into the case or agreeing to carry out a new cloning in court in the presence of the interested party for the purpose of its incorporation into the proceedings".
In a previous order, the investigating judge authorized access, dumping, and analysis in police facilities of Serrano's phone, investigated in the case, and specified that "the opening of his devices, the complete cloning, and the safeguarding of its content will be carried out with the necessary technical conditions to ensure the authenticity and integrity of the data and the guarantees of its preservation".
Likewise, Pedraz granted permission to the agents of the Central Operational Unit (UCO) of the Civil Guard for the viewing of "any communications located to identify those that may have a direct relationship with the facts subject to the specific investigation in the present case, as well as the list of contact data stored both in the memory of the phone and in any SIM or storage card housed in the devices".
The judge charged Serrano for his "preeminent participation" in the two aspects of the procedure, after the UCO indicated in one of its reports that "the positioning" of the former socialist militant Leire Díez "in a position at Correos would have been directly handled by Fernández with Serrano", a point that arises from a conversation between the two from May 2021.
"What we talked about Leire, could we put it into action now?", posed the former president of SEPI Vicente Fernández to Serrano, according to the messages included, to add next: "I had thought that, since after the reorganization, Tote is in charge of institutional matters in the territories, it could be assigned for her to work with him. Does that sound good to you?".
In response to these messages from the former president of SEPI, Serrano replied: "Ok, let's keep talking", according to the report. Immediately after, the investigators include a message from Díez to Fernández in which he asks if "Juanma has responded to him". "Yes, he has put 'ok, let's keep talking'. Don't worry, yours will come out", he replied.
The agents also add that Díez coordinated with Serrano to "help" Sánchez after his period of reflection motivated by the indictment of his wife and to pursue "the bad people", and emphasize that the exchanges of messages between them point to a "close" collaboration.
