The president of the Court of Instance of Gandia (Valencia), Juan Antonio Navarro, has decided this Monday to temporarily close the Palace of Justice of the city to protect people, in light of the red alert for rainfall activated by Aemet and the difficulty of accessing the headquarters under normal conditions.
The decision implies the suspension of ordinary judicial activity, although each judicial body will adopt the necessary resolutions to suspend the hearings and trials scheduled for this Monday, as detailed by the Superior Court of Justice of the Valencian Community (TSJCV) in a statement.
Only essential personnel who must attend to urgent and unavoidable matters will be allowed to enter the Palace of Justice, in the offices of the Duty Court, of plaza number 1 of the Section of Violence against Women and of the Civil Section that remains on standby for urgent interventions.
These measures are framed within the Judicial Action Protocol in Cases of Major Disasters of the General Council of the Judiciary and in the Crisis Management Protocol affecting the judicial sphere in the Valencian Community.
The agreement specifies that, for the moment, it is not deemed necessary to make any proposal regarding the suspension of procedural deadlines, as their compliance can be carried out electronically, "except for specific issues that must be raised" individually in each procedure.
