The Community of Madrid has expanded to 21 the reception points enabled for people displaced by the wildfires. The devices are distributed among 18 municipalities and have already attended to 2,701 affected individuals.

The wildfires in Madrid have led the regional Government and the municipalities to reinforce the network of temporary accommodations intended for residents who have had to leave their homes. The opening of two new devices in Boadilla del Monte and Collado Villalba raises the operation to 21 reception points in 18 municipalities of Madrid.

In total, these spaces have provided assistance to 2,701 displaced persons, according to data provided by the Community of Madrid. The centers offer a safe place for those affected while restrictions and firefighting efforts continue in the areas reached by the fire.

Boadilla will host 125 residents from Valdemaqueda

The new reception point in Boadilla del Monte is prepared to assist 125 people from Valdemaqueda, a municipality evacuated due to the advance of the fire in the Sierra Oeste.

This device is joined by the one opened in Collado Villalba, where another 40 people are receiving assistance. The incorporation of both municipalities expands the response capacity to the displacements caused by the wildfires.

Móstoles concentrates the largest number of displaced persons

Móstoles is the municipality that serves the most affected, with 400 people distributed among three reception points. It is followed by Las Rozas, with 320; Villaviciosa de Odón, with 260; Alcalá de Henares, with 250; Villamanta, with 220, and Brunete, with 197 people spread across two facilities.

The network also includes devices in Leganés, where 185 displaced persons remain; Getafe, with 162; Alcorcón, with 130; Sevilla la Nueva and Alcobendas, with 100 people each, and Villanueva de la Cañada, with 89.
