The situation of the wildfires presents a favorable evolution this Tuesday, August 25, after several of the large fires that have marked the last weeks have moved to phases of control, stabilization, or monitoring. The fire in Pinofranqueado, in the Cáceres region of Las Hurdes, has been declared controlled and the INFOEX Plan has reduced its danger level to zero.

In the Valencian Community, the fire in Segorbe remains stabilized after affecting about 630 hectares in the Sierra Calderona. Teams continue to work on the perimeter, although the confinement of Gátova has already been lifted and the CV-25 road has been reopened.

Pinofranqueado is controlled after affecting 3,765 hectares

The fire declared in Pinofranqueado has been controlled after several days of emergency in the Las Hurdes region. The INFOEX Plan has reduced the danger level to zero and the latest provisional estimate places the affected area at about 3,765 hectares.

The emergency has now given way to monitoring work and the recovery of the affected areas. Among the priority actions is ensuring the water supply in some hamlets and preventing ashes from affecting the water resources used by the population.

Segorbe remains stabilized and maintains firefighting efforts

The fire in Segorbe, declared after a lightning strike and also spread to the area of Gátova, remains stabilized after affecting about 630 hectares and leaving a perimeter of around 18 kilometers in the Natural Park of Sierra Calderona.

The favorable evolution has allowed the lifting of the confinement that still affected the residents of Gátova and the reopening of the CV-25. However, several ground units continue to be deployed to cool the ground, consolidate the perimeter, and prevent possible re-ignitions, while the forest tracks and trails in the affected area remain closed.

Las Peñas de Riglos continues with work on hot spots

The INFOAR operation maintains firefighting efforts in the fire of Las Peñas de Riglos, in Huesca, one of the major fires recorded during August. The work focuses on cooling the smoldering areas and the hot spots that still persist within the affected perimeter.

The situation is far from the emergency experienced during the first days of the fire, but the device continues on the ground to prevent reproductions and advance towards its definitive extinction.

Biscarrués remains stabilized and Aliaga has been controlled

The fires declared on Sunday in Biscarrués, in Huesca, and Aliaga, in Teruel, evolved favorably. The fire in Biscarrués was stabilized during the same afternoon after the intervention of aerial and ground means, while that of Aliaga was controlled.

The rapid action of the Aragonese device allowed for the containment of both focuses before they reached a larger extent. The fires remain under monitoring while the necessary tasks to complete their extinction continue.

La Vall d’Uixó controls a new vegetation fire

The extinction device also intervened in La Vall d’Uixó, in Castellón, due to a fire declared in the area of Camí La Punta. The fire affected abandoned farmland, but the action of the firefighters prevented the flames from reaching the adjacent forest mass.

The fire was controlled and the forces continued reviewing and refreshing the perimeter. This episode adds to the work that continues to be carried out in the province of Castellón, where Segorbe remains the forest fire of greatest magnitude in recent days.
