About half of the Spaniards have total or partial flexibility when it comes to setting their vacations, a key element that is favoring the choice of the low season to reduce spending and avoid the overcrowding typical of the central summer months.

This conclusion is drawn from the Smart Summer 2026 report by the travel search engine Skyscanner, where it is emphasized that this ability to adjust the calendar helps to navigate the two major obstacles that users point out when preparing group trips: the difficulty of coordinating schedules (35%) and the high overall cost of the trip (41%).

With the aim of helping to organize a last getaway at the end of the summer period, the company has released a list of the ten international destinations with the cheapest one-way flights for travel during September.

In first position is the Slovak capital, Bratislava, with an average price of 61.58 euros. Following are the Moroccan cities of Essaouira and Rabat, whose tickets have an average cost of 62.55 euros and 66.10 euros, respectively.

The ranking of the ten most economical spots is completed with Milan (Italy), with an average amount of 68.52 euros; Bordeaux (France), with 75.94 euros; Geneva (Switzerland), for 82.74 euros; Katowice (Poland), with 85.93 euros; Faro (Portugal), at 86.06 euros; Nice (France), for 95.61 euros, and the capital of Albania, Tirana, with an average price of 102.28 euros.

This range of alternatives includes coastal cities and cultural destinations in the Mediterranean to various European capitals, and reinforces the inclination of the Spanish traveler towards a more planned, efficient, and de-seasonalized travel model.
